14 DAY TRIAL // After some teasing, the first official trailer for “Looper” has arrived. Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the same role, the film is a time-traveling action thriller.
Johnson and Gordon-Levitt have been preparing the release of the clip above for the better part of this week, through a series of vignettes meant to explain the twisted narrative.
The first trailer does that better.
“Looper” tells the story of a hired gun who kills people from the future. He will be facing the most difficult challenge of his life when he has to kill himself – because the mafia bosses he's working for believe they have no further use for him.
The film also stars Emily Blunt (who proves to be very handy with a shotgun), Jeff Daniels and Piper Perabo, and will be out in September this year.
