Following a quick re-iteration of Chrome 8.0 Stable for Mac, Google’s development team responsible with whipping the browser into shape has announced that the first 9.0 Beta builds are out for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

As usual, Anthony Laforge, a member of the Google Chrome development team, is proud to make the unveiling via the official blog dedicated to Google Chrome Releases.

“The Beta channel has been updated to 9.0.597.19 for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame,” Laforge blogs for Google. “If you find new issues, please let us know by filing a bug at http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry,” his post ends.

Earlier this week, Google updated the Chrome Dev channel to version 9.0.597.19, which the same Anthony Laforge described as “primarily a crash fix release, in particular resolving a sync related crash issue.”

At the time, Softpedia noted that “Going by the progress made in the Dev channel, it will not be long before the Beta channel is updated with a 9.0 build of Chrome.”

Google agreed, therefore we have the latest Beta build of Chrome ready for your downloading pleasure.

Mac users can download the newest versions of Chrome (Dev, Beta, Stable) via the link below.

Google Chrome requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and an Intel-based Mac.

A note about Google Chrome release channels and updates

Chrome boasts a release system with three distinct channels: Stable, Beta, and Developer preview, called the "Dev" channel.

The Stable channel is updated with features and fixes only after they are thoroughly tested in the Beta channel, while the Beta channel is be updated with stable and complete features from the Dev channel, where ideas get tested.
