Producers are looking to bring interesting actors to the circus

Last time viewers saw Dr. Gregory House of Fox hit series “House M.D.,” he was just saying good-bye to his old friend and willingly admitting himself to a mental institution. With the season 5 finale leaving fans gasping for air – much in the manner the show has done since it first debuted in 2004 – it’s no wonder producers are working overtime to come up with new and exciting things for the season 6 premiere.

Michael Ausiello of The Ausiello Files, who also happens to be one of the most reliable sources of the kind, having connections with all the major studios and usually getting the inside scoop on everything, knows exactly what will change next. Apparently, the producers behind “House” have already attached a new star to the series, as they are looking to vamp up the cast to match the changed setting of the mental institution where House will be taking up residence in the next season, Ausiello reveals.

“Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda has been cast as House’s psych hospital roomie, sources confirm to me exclusively. Miranda, best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical ‘In The Heights,’ will appear in at least two episodes beginning with the show’s sixth season premiere this fall. A House insider tells me producers are looking for other ‘interesting actors’ to populate the psychiatric facility that became House’s home in last month’s finale.” Ausiello says, citing reliable sources from inside the network.

As of now, this is all the scoop that transpired in the media on the series that has managed to keep viewers on their toes ever since it first aired and which, quite expectedly, registered only a minor drop in ratings throughout the years. Other rumors on “House,” this time not coming from sources as reliable as Ausiello’s, have it that the cuckoo doctor, as he’s often referred to in the media, will definitely be taking his relationship with Lisa Cuddy to the next level in the sixth season, although whether this time it will be the real deal or not has not yet been established.

“House M.D.” still ranks in the top ten most viewed series in the US and has already picked up a wide array of awards, including a Peabody Award, two Golden Globes, and three Primetime Emmy Awards. The sixth season is scheduled to premiere sometime in September this year, so make sure you keep an eye on this space for more inside details on it.
