Joanne Rowling may have finished her world-famous series of novels depicting the magical adventures of the boy wizard Harry Potter, but the movie franchise intent on bringing Harry to the big screens is still going strong. The shooting for the sixth movie in the series, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", has begun a while ago, and Warner Bros is offering us a first peek into the much darker world of our favorite characters' sixth year at Hogwarts. The producers promise us a much more realistic and mature movie, in which the awareness of Lord Voldemort's rise to power, the day-to-day challenges of attending a school of magic and the pangs and woes of disappointed teenage love intertwine for an unforgettable experience.
The first photo for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has been released, and you can have a look at it above. If anything, it definitely looks like the three main characters - played by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson - have grown up nicely since we last saw them last year, and are promising a spectacular treat for their fans. The movie is produced by the veteran David Heyman (who acted as producer for all the films in the Harry Potter franchise) together with David Barron, while the screenplay based on the book by J.K. Rowling is adapted by Steve Kloves, who also drew the scripts for the first four movies in the franchise.
"I am really excited that David Yates and all our cast are back for the sixth film and welcome some wonderful new additions to our ensemble", producer Heyman stated in a recent interview. "We all share a commitment to Jo Rowling and to Harry Potter fans around the world to keep making these films the best they can be and, as we head into the final installments, I can promise that this level of commitment will not waver". What he didn't mention is the fact that as the movies come closer to the grand finale, the entire cast and crew are under a lot of pressure to maximize the story's appeal and keep it from becoming boring or - even worse - predictable. So, enjoy the first exclusive peek into the world of the "Half-Blood Prince" and stay tuned for more fresh movie news.
