Ahead of the actual reveal of Alan Wake: Night Springs at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards, the first screenshot has been presented, showcasing Alan Wake and his trusty flashlight standing in front of a Motel near the town of Night Springs, where the action of the downloadable game might take place.

We heard last week that the 2011 VGAs will be the place where quite a lot of big announcements are going to be made, from a new BioWare project, which saw its first screenshot appear earlier today, to a downloadable Alan Wake title, that continues the story from the original and its subsequent DLC.

Now, the first image from the new game, presumably called Alan Wake: Night Springs, has been released, showcasing the protagonist, wielding his flashlight, in front of a motel just 15 miles from the town of Night Springs.

No other details have been given, but Remedy Entertainment, the developer of the series, has emphasized that it's going to be a proper Alan Wake experience, so fans shouldn't cast it off just because it's a downloadable game.
