While waiting for the EURO 2008 competition, we've got to play a title that's good enough to chase away the boredom. Since there's no sign of a new Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer title (yet), EA rushes in with the good news, delivering FIFA 08, this autumn and a couple of juicy screenshots and videos right now. The newest addition to the FIFA series will be available on the Xbox 360, the PS3, Nintendo Wii, DS, PSP, PC and
mobile phones of course.

FIFA 08 is built according to the new possibilities given by the Xbox 360's and the PS3's graphical engines, featuring top class animations and a highly responsive control. If you think you're too good while playing the latest installments in the FIFA series, wait till you play a match against the new and improved AI. FIFA 08 will feature a 35-point decision engine that will give the CPU players the option of performing various actions on the pitch, while reacting to your playing style. There's also a so-called "Threat Map", that makes players aware of the opportunities they can speculate and gaps in a team's defense.

In the new FIFA game, there will be no such things as "buggy" goals, since each goal strike will have a complex engine working behind it, calculating percentages, measuring the players' attributes and even the ball spin. Thanks to a new mode, called "Be A Pro" you'll get the chance to fill a player's shoes and control a single sportsman leading him to the top, through lots of training and discipline.

Remember the Interactive Leagues introduced in FIFA 07? They're back, this time on the PS3 and Xbox 360, giving you a chance to represent your favorite club against your archrivals and defeat them in superb derbies. Also FIFA 08 will feature loads of content, like the 620 licensed teams, the 30 leagues and more than 15.000 players aiming for the trophies. All in all, the new title will be 20% larger than FIFA 07.

Here's a 3D render of Ronaldinho doing some tricks.
