Samsung’s latest flagship Android-based device, the Samsung Galaxy S5, will arrive on the market only next month, but the first firmware for it is already available online now, it seems.

This is the official software for the smartphone, released for the Chinese version of the handset (SM-G9009D) and based on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform release.

As SamMobile notes, the firmware has been compiled on March 12 and it should soon be followed by software released for other variants of the device.

While the software won’t be of much help to users at this time, it will certainly allow many to have a closer look at some of the features and applications that Samsung has packed inside its device.

This would include wallpapers, ringtones, system apps, and the like, all of which will become officially available the moment Galaxy S5 lands on the market.

According to the South Korean mobile phone maker, the new device is set to make an official debut in no less than 150 countries on April 11, which means that there are a lot of additional firmware releases to emerge until than day.

In the meantime, those interested in peeking inside the aforementioned firmware for Galaxy S5 G9009D should head over to SamMobile’s firmware section to grab it.
