Owners of Android-based devices can now take advantage of the features and benefits that Tapatalk 4 has in store for them, as Quoord Systems Limited, the company behind the software, has released the first public beta flavor of the app.

The company is planning on gathering feedback on the mobile application before pushing it out in a final version, merged with Tapatalk HD.

The new app flavor  has been built on Android 4.0 API level, which means that only owners of devices running under Ice Cream Sandwich or newer OS releases will be able to enjoy its features.

However, as Android Central notes, the application, designed to enable users to browse through forums easier than before, comes with a redesigned layout, as well as with a series of more advanced features.

The updated Tapatalk sports a cleaner Holo layout and feels more like a native Android app, the website notes. It also takes advantage of push notifications, while serving individual forum posts in a card layout, similar to that delivered by Google Now.

Other features of the new app flavor include sign-in with Tapatalk ID, so that users can easily manage various forum accounts, as well as a new posting and viewing experience, with easy navigation through swiping right or left on a mobile device's screen.

“Discover great internet communities or stay connected with your favourites community on-the-go with this award-winning mobile app. Tapatalk is the only mobile app combing over 50,000+ internet communities with a streamlined mobile experience,” the app’s description reads.

“Tapatalk aggregates content from network of communities of common interests, from automotive to parenting, from gardening to horse-riding - You will meet passionate people who share the same interest and participate in great discussions on topic only you and the like-minded members truly appreciated.”

The Tapatalk 4 Public Beta 1 for Android (available as version 4.0.6) can be found listed on Softpedia as well, via this link.
