14 DAY TRIAL // Just hours after the sudden death of the author who created the popular Jack Ryan character, Paramount Pictures has released the first poster for its upcoming thriller, “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.”

The film stars Chris Pine as the CIA analyst, but also Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley, and Kenneth Branagh, who also directed it.
The Wrap notes that the film will take Jake Ryan, the character who first appeared in Clancy’s 1984 novel “The Hunt for Red October,” to Moscow, “where he uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack.”
Pine is the fourth actor to play Jack Ryan, after Alec Baldwin (“The Hunt for Red October”), Harrison Ford (“Patriot Games,” “Clear and Present Danger”), and Ben Affleck (“Sum of All Fears”).
“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” will be out in theaters this Christmas.
