Takeshi Yaegashi announced a couple of days ago the release of what appears to be the first Debian Linux LiveCD for the brand new PlayStation 3 gaming console: "I've released Debian Live CD for PLAYSTATION 3, which also integrates Debian-Installer in the single ISO image [...] I thank you for developing such a nice software. I hope that live-package should have more support for architectures other than i386/amd64." This Debian LiveCD for PS3 is available right now for download here. Thanks to the included Debian-Installer package, you can easily install Debian GNU/Linux on PlayStation 3 with this single CD. The CD boots into a GNOME 2.14 desktop environment and contains about 400 software packages. It is powered by a PS3 customized, 2.6.16 Linux kernel.
