Images aim to depict a larger Apple tablet with a relocated Lightning connector, redesigned buttons and speaker

A bunch of photos leaked from the Netherlands aim to depict - without much success - Apple’s rumored iPad Pro, featuring a number of aesthetic changes. The images are almost certainly fake, but the subject is up for discussion nonetheless.

As every year goes, whenever a hotly anticipated Apple product is about to roll out, the leaks start trickling in as well. If you somehow stumbled across these images and were led to believe this is the iPad Pro, don’t fully buy into them. In fact, if you ask us, they’re almost certainly fabricated.

“Are these the first pictures of the iPad Pro?”

No they’re not, is how we’d answer VandaagApple’s question. Whether or not they did it solely for the page views, the site claimed to have received these photos from an anonymous source with connections to Apple.

For the record, any site can make that claim without being obligated to produce actual evidence that the source was indeed connected to Apple in any way. In other words, the story, along with the images, could be entirely fabricated.

However, we’re more inclined to think that there was a source behind the pictures, as we too receive such “leaks” from time to time. The only difference is we’d probably pass on such incredible photos. We say this, because:

- the device appears to be way too thick compared to existing iPads (even if Apple does end up with a thicker design for the larger tablet, it probably won’t be this gruesome); - the volume buttons are a joke (too small, misaligned, have different coloring and seem completely out of place on the chassis); - the volume speaker grill stands too close to the headphone jack, or so it would appear; - the Lightning port is strangely situated on one of the tablet’s sides, something we don’t see happening on any iPad in the near future.
