14 DAY TRIAL // Sometime last week, word got out in the media that Kate Winslet was working towards a reconciliation with soon to be ex-husband Sam Mendes. Only a few hours later, another rumor came to replace this one, namely that the Oscar winner was already moving on with her life, having found solace and a new beginning in the arms of model Louis Dowler. Now, the two have been photographed together for the first time, the Daily Mail notes.
Though the exact nature of their relationship is not yet known, Winslet and Dowler were spotted together the other day as they enjoyed a light workout in New York City. She was on a bike, while he chose to go bare-chested on foot, keeping up with her. Both seemed not to be bothered by the paparazzi snapping their picture, which could mean either that they’re relationship is strictly professional / platonic, or that they’re past the stage where they’re trying to hide they’re an item.
“It was less than five months ago that Kate Winslet announced her split from husband Sam Mendes. But it looks like the Oscar winner is bouncing back from her heartbreak after she was pictured with rumored new boyfriend Louis Dowler for the first time. The actress, 34, was photographed recently enjoying an afternoon of exercise with the handsome British model and her six-year-old son Joe in New York City,” the Mail writes.
“While Winslet rode on a bicycle, with Joe on the back, topless Dowler, 34, showed his athletic prowess by running alongside her. The couple are said to have become inseparable in recent months after meeting through mutual friends at a party. Dowler, who is 6ft tall, has starred in several high-profile modeling campaigns and has modeled for Burberry, Paul Smith and Paco Rabanne,” the same tab further notes.
Kate announced she was separating from and divorcing Sam shortly after she won an Oscar at the beginning of the year, almost immediately after the Jesse James cheating scandal broke. This prompted talk of an “Oscar curse” that plagued female winners and forced them to be single or unhappy in marriage. However, if the above is accurate and she’s already moved on with her life, perhaps the “curse” is not much of a curse after all.
