14 DAY TRIAL // Christina Aguilera’s first marriage, to music executive Jordan Bratman, ended in heartbreak but she’s found love again in the arms of Matt Rutler, her current fiancé. The two are expecting their first child together, and photos of the pregnant diva have just emerged online, the first since word of the pregnancy got out.
Matt proposed to Christina on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day, with a ring he helped design and on which he had worked for almost an entire year.
Just weeks later, reports claimed that Christina and Matt were expecting and, while the singer is yet to address the rumors in any way yet, the Daily Mail believes that this set of photos confirms them.
Christina, Matt, and Max, Christina’s son with Bratman, were spotted at Disneyland in Anaheim, California a few days ago. They were photographed enjoying a cone of ice cream and sitting for a family portrait with one of the many artists usually found at such tourist hotspots.
In all the photos available, the singer is shown sitting down on a chair, so you can’t really see her belly. The British tab, however, notes that there’s a definite “hint of a baby bump” there, which Christina seemed to have wanted to hide with a large top and an oversized gray wrap.
It also cites an insider as saying that both Christina and Matt are thrilled that they’re having a baby, even though they hadn’t necessarily planned for this to happen right now.
“[The pregnancy] wasn't expected, but it also wasn't unwelcome. They are all very excited though! Christina loves being a mom,” says the spy. As for whether they’re hoping for a boy or a girl, the same insider adds that “They just want a healthy baby.”
No word yet on when that might happen: when the fresh pregnancy rumors broke, they mentioned nothing about how far along Christina was. Considering that there were some tabloids claiming she was with child as early as February 5, it’s very difficult to pinpoint a date for the delivery, even an approximate one.
There’s also the question of Christina not saying anything about this just yet, which could mean that she’s either in her first trimester and wants to wait, or she plans to keep it under wraps until the last moment.
She did the same when she was pregnant with Max but, then again, she was in the middle of a world tour at the time, so she covered the bump the best way she knew how while on stage.
