With “Taken,” which came out in 2008, Liam Neeson consolidated his reputation as a successful action star, proving that age has nothing to do with being one. A sequel is now in the works and the first pictures from it are out.

As fans must know, the original “Taken” saw Neeson as a retired special agent who travels to Europe to save his daughter, kidnapped while vacationing in France, from the hands of pimps and traffickers.

The sequel will put a spin on that story, the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, which landed the first pics, reveals.

It's Neeson's character that will be kidnapped now (as associates of the guys he killed seek revenge), and his daughter must come to the rescue.

However, judging by the photos, Neeson will be just as tough, if not actually more so, than in the first flick.

“Taken 2” drops in US theaters this October.
