Beyonce and Jay-Z introduce their daughter to the world

Following weeks of intense speculation on the method Beyonce and Jay-Z would choose to introduce their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, to the world, here come the much awaited photos. Interestingly, they were not sold to a celebrity magazine.

Any “respectable” celebrity gossip lover must know that stars have long perfected this method of showing off their newly born children for the first time: they sell the rights for the first pics to a publication.

Some, like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, donate the money to charity. Others (read: most) don’t.

Shortly after Blue Ivy was born one month ago, speculation began on how much money Bey and Jay could command for an exclusive and, of course, on what publication they’d choose for it.

As it turns out, they have opted for the more elegant way of introducing their firstborn to the world, by releasing the photos themselves, free of charge.

This way, they’re also making sure they won’t be hounded by the paparazzi for that “million dollar shot,” that is, the baby’s first pic.

The two have set up a website for their daughter, HelloBlueIvyCarter on tumblr, and posted the first photos of them as a family there, together with a brief message.

“We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time in our lives. -The Carter Family,” the two stars write.

The four photos posted, two of which you can also see here, show Beyonce with Blue Ivy, Jay-Z with her, the baby’s hands.

There’s also a photo of Blue Ivy alone, but none of the two superstars and the child together.

A couple of days ago, word got out that Beyonce and Jay had moved to trademark Blue Ivy’s name, which prompted a lot of speculation on whether they were planning to launch a business line to celebrate her coming into this world.

Now that Blue Ivy has her own website, it could be that this is why her mom and dad wanted her name trademarked.
