After months of speculation, at least one very public casting faux-pas when Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the role, and millions of fans of the books campaigning online in the hope of seeing their favorites as leads, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie has finally started shooting.

Above is the first “official” photo from the film which, as I’m sure you must have noticed already, isn’t really from the film. It was posted by author E.L. James on Instagram to mark the start of production and comes with the caption “action!.”

Action, indeed. The two leads have already been photographed on set so, if you want to see Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) enjoying what I believe is their first cup of coffee together, after he kept pressuring her to go out with him, you can see those photos here.

Yes, I read the books. It was for research, don’t judge.

As for the pics, they don’t reveal much, only what you’d expect: Christian is handsome and elegant, whereas Anastasia looks as if she just dragged herself out of bed.

The film, the first of a planned trilogy, will be out in 2015.
