The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly brings the first photo of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor from the upcoming “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” from director Zack Snyder. As it turns out, the villain doesn’t look like you’d expect.

He looks just like… Jesse Eisenberg, but in black and white. And without hair. So if you were expecting the photo to be so revealing as to blow your mind away, sorry to disappoint.

A few months ago, when the movie had just gone into production, rumors online claimed that Eisenberg had been spotted on set looking dashing in a business suit and rocking a blonde head of hair, or “a long straight surfer mop,” as it was described at the time.

Panic among fans ensued immediately, because not only did they have to deal with a miscast actor (they still believe Eisenberg was not a good choice for the iconic villain), but now also with the thought that Lex Luthor, the famously bald villain, would sport long blonde hair.

At least on this count the fans can breathe easily: the new Lex doesn’t have hair. Moreover, Snyder promises them through EW, he will be unlike any other iteration of the character to make it to the big screen.

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure... other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake... He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there,” the director reveals.

“Batman V. Superman” opens in theaters one year from now, on March 25, 2016, and will also star Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Jason Momoa.
