Nordic Games has confirmed that the modern remake of the 2004 first-person shooter Painkiller Hell & Damnation will be making its way onto Macs this spring.

Coded by the people at The Farm 51 and based on Epic’s Unreal 3 engine, Painkiller Hell & Damnation is “true to the old-school FPS ideology, lightning-fast movement enables skilful players to get into the heart of the fast-paced gameplay, topped off with stunning enormo-boss fights requiring sneaky tactics,” according to Nordic.

A fast-paced, modern remake, Painkiller Hell & Damnation will launch with a Mod-Kit, and the developers promise to provide regular updates and further improvements to the existing content and framework as the game is being rolled out for OS X.

Reinhard Pollice, business & product development director at Nordic Games, added, “We’re also working to port good old Daniel Garner to Linux and Mac this April/May.” The Mac system requirements aren’t out yet, but you can review the PC specs here.
