If you’re a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal’s work, you will probably be happy to know that he’s got 3 movies coming out this year: “Southpaw,” “Demolition” and “Everest,” with the last one getting an official trailer just a few hours ago.

“Everest” will be out in theaters starting September 18, and tells the story of a group of climbers who set out to conquer the most dangerous mountain in the world. This is actually a film based on true events, the 1996 expedition that ended in disaster when a storm hit as the climbers had reached the summit.

You can see that moment in the first trailer released for the film as well, embedded in full and in HD below.

“Everest” is directed by Baltasar Kormakur, and aside from the beautiful visual effects and the promise that they will be even better in 3D (from the trailer), it also includes a star-studded cast that should want to make you see it.

Aside from Gyllenhaal, you will see Robin Wright, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, John Hawkes, Michael Kenny and Clive Standen.

Shooting took place in Nepal and the Italian Alps, in very harsh weather conditions. Once production wrapped, director Kormakur told the media that his purpose in making this film was to get “the adventure, adversity and friendships that shooting this story would provide. I got them.”
