After three films and reading the books, “Twilight” are anxiously waiting for the grand love scene between Edward and Bella in the first part of “Breaking Dawn.” The first official photo from the film hints at just that.

*Fans who haven’t read the books and who want to be surprised when the movie drops in theaters are encouraged not to read any further than this – spoilers ahead.* Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the most successful vampire franchise of all times, knows that the love scene in “Breaking Dawn” will be one of the most important – and most anticipated – in the upcoming film.

Granted, it also knows that it will probably be the most difficult to render onscreen without having the movie lose its PG-13 rating, but that’s not stopping it from milking it for publicity – as it is to be expected.

Director Bill Condon recently uploaded on his Twitter page the first official pic from the film: the hand of a woman resting on a bed, clutching some feathers.

The photo doesn’t show that much for a newbie to the franchise, but for Twi-hards, it holds no secret: it’s Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) hand after the night she first made love to Edward (Robert Pattinson).

As Stephenie Meyer wrote in the original book, the fourth and last in the series, the two, a mortal girl and a vampire, fly away to an exotic island for their honeymoon.

Edward chose the destination because only the heat there would allow him to hold Bella in his arms at night, since she would otherwise catch a cold – Edward, being a vampire, is cold as ice.

Meyer skips the entire scene when they make love for the first time by using a very smart tricks: by skipping to the next day and offering only bits and pieces of it, it allows readers to picture the scene themselves in their mind.

Bella is covered in feathers (and bruises), with Edward telling her that, in order to abstain from biting her neck and killing her on the spot during their lovemaking, he bit a couple of pillows.

Hence, the feathers and the hand in the first pic from “Breaking Dawn.” It’s not much for a non-fan, but Twi-hards must be brimming with anticipation right now. “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” is out in US theaters on November 18, 2011.
