“Twilight” fans would better check their local listings, set their watches and wait patiently until May 31, as sources reveal that never-before-seen footage from “New Moon,” the most anticipated film of the year of the genre, will air during the MTV Movie Awards. Not only that, but Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will also be taking the stage, Twilight Source informs.

As of now, it is not yet certain whether the famous trio would attend the ceremonies to present the award or to introduce the clip, as reports in the media are still contradictory in this sense. What is certain, though, the aforementioned “Twilight”-oriented e-zine says, is that a clip from the upcoming film will be shown for the first time. Moreover, it is being added, while it may not last more than a minute, it will be so action-packed that fans will certainly be pleasantly surprised.

“I can exclusively reveal that footage from the Twilight sequel will be shown for the first time during the upcoming MTV Movie Awards. And that’s not all – it gets better… Awards show producer Mark Burnett says [Robert Pattinson], Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will hit the stage together to present the clip. An action-packed, minute-long clip from Twilight showing Edward battling badboy bloodsucker James (Cam Gigandet) made its debut at last year’s awards. It was also the first time Pattinson and Stewart walked a red carpet together in support of the movie.” Twilight Source writes, citing an E! Online report.

As fans must know, “New Moon” has already generated plenty of hype – which is amazing for a film for which not even the first teaser official posters have been released (except for the photo showing the wolf pack). In a recent interview, Pattinson tried to address some of fans’ more burning questions, while also assuring them that, unlike in the book, Edward will get plenty of screen time.

“It’s as close as possible to the book. [In the film] it’s an illusion when he appears. I think if you do it with voiceover as they do in the book, it would end up being quite cheesy. But it’s very subtle, my presence. It’s actually quite scary because Bella is kind of going a little bit nuts. I was worried about having too much presence because you really need that relationship with Jacob to drive to the third and fourth books. You really need that triangle.” Pattinson was saying recently.

As noted above, the MTV Awards will take place on May 31. As of now, Eminem is the only one to have been confirmed for a performance, a full list of singers and stars / presenters being yet to be revealed. However, should the report that Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner will take the stage be accurate, then there’s a high chance that MTV will not be confirming it, perhaps looking to keep it as a surprise. Stay tuned here for updates on this.
