Motorola Moto X+1 seem to be a US affair once again, at least according to the first press image of the smartphone that’s just been leaked online.

Published by tech celebrity @evleaks as a gift that would mark his recent retirement, the press image shows a Verizon-branded Motorola Moto X+1, which suggests that the smartphone will surely come to the Big Red soon after the smartphone goes official.

However, it’s unclear whether or not the Moto X+1 will be a Verizon exclusive in the United States. If it is, then it will be interesting to see how long it will take Motorola to bring the smartphone to other carriers in the country as well.

The Amazon Fire Phone flap should be lesson to all handset manufacturers that exclusivity deals do not really help their sales. It’s quite alright to make exclusivity deal on certain periods, but to not allow a huge chunk of customers to purchase your product because they do not like a particular carrier is not alright.

Anyway, we hope that the Motorola Moto X+1 will be launched internationally as well. The US-based company sold lots of Moto E and Moto G units in other countries, so we don’t see a reason not to bring its flagship smartphone to other regions as well.

The press image is also showing that the smartphone will be available in black and white color options, but we’re also looking at a wooden back cover, which is kind of exciting.

The Moto X+1 seems to feature dual front speakers, while the camera does not seem to have a standard LED flash on the right or left. It appears that Motorola embedded two smaller flash LEDs in both sides of the camera, but we’re not sure yet how they will perform.

Unfortunately, there are no details on the phone’s specs sheet, so we’re left with the info we got from previous leaks. So, we expect the Motorola Moto X+1 to come with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset inside, along with 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that would support full HD (1080p) resolution. We’re no sure about the amount of megapixels of the main camera from the back of the handset, but the leaked press image confirms that the phone also packs a secondary camera.

Motorola Moto X+1 will surely be unveiled on September 4 in Berlin, Germany. The company has also announced that it scheduled a press event for this year’s IFA trade fair, where we expect that at least two smartphones will be reveals, so stay tuned.
