Production on the sequel to “Clash of the Titans,” called “Wrath of the Titans,” kicked off earlier this year, with promises from everyone involved that it would have better FX and 3D than its predecessor.

We now have a first photo from the film, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

While it says nothing about the special effects or the 3D, the photo does confirm that the sequel will be at least as action-packed as the original.

After all, here is Sam Worthington charging an attack on an unknown enemy, while looking quite upset and somewhat more raggedy than before.

Director Jonathan Liebesman says that the trident in the actor's hand, who is back as rather unwilling hero Perseus, is just one element he needs “in order to create one uber-weapon” he doesn't want to talk about.

Fans who loved the first film will undoubtedly love the sequel as well, especially as it brings back Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Danny Hutson in their respective roles.

In the meanwhile, until release, check out the first official photo from the film.
