Taking a break from “The Twilight Saga” (whose timing is perfect, since shooting for the franchise wrapped a long time ago), Stephenie Meyer is now working on another project: the big screen adaptation of her novel “The Host.”

Scheduled to drop in theaters in March 2013, “The Host” is still shooting – but MTV got a behind the scenes pass to offer fans a first look at the film.

Check out the video below for it.

The video also includes mini-interviews with leading lady Saoirse Ronan and her co-star Max Irons. Meyer is featured as well, speaking about how spectacular a cave scene came out.

The film is directed by Andrew Niccol, and it features appearances from William Hurt and Diane Kruger.

For those who haven't read the book, no, “The Host” is not about vampires, but about aliens.
