As announced earlier this month, Disney star Selena Gomez has been working with K-Mart on a line of back to school clothing. The items included in the collection are stuff that Selena herself would wear, therefore she has made sure her personal style is imprinted on them, as she reveals for Women’s Wear Daily.

The Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez will also come at affordable prices, thus fans will actually get the best of both worlds: high quality and trendy clothing, and a good price. Including fancy headwear with youthful, light skirts and dresses, the line is the epitome of boho chic that has been taking Hollywood by storm with the look sported by stars like Sienna Miller, Rachel Bilson and Mischa Barton.

“[It’s] the whole Texan cowgirl meets the glam Boho chic of Hollywood. Since the announcement, we added a lot of accessories. I love scarves, and long necklaces and cute bangles. It’s constantly changing, which is cool. It will change with me,” Selena tells WWD about the line. The first photos of the items included show that, indeed, the overall feel about the collection is that of comfort and trendiness.

In a way, Selena’s latest endeavor is seen as something she’s doing for her fans, which she seems to have in common with Taylor Swift. Granted, both of them make money off efforts of this type but they do so in a less blatant manner, that upsets no one, it is being said, as opposed to other stars. Swift, for instance, released a line of Valentine’s Day greeting cards before the holiday with the same name and, because it was clear she had been very involved in their design, they were perceived more as a “surprise gift” than as yet another celebrity-endorsed product.

“The singer teamed up with American Greetings to design and write a line of greeting cards that ‘not only reflect and demonstrate her personality, but bring her stories and words to life,’ according to American Greetings. Twelve new cards are now available in the United States and Canada, under a display that reads ‘Hi, I’m Taylor and these are my cards.’ The girly cards are decorated with glitter and butterflies, and offer a less traditional style of salutation. In one card, Swift, the top-selling artist of both 2008 and 2009, writes, ‘Congratulations, Bday Girl!/You’ve officially been AWESOME for ____ years!’” NBC wrote of the release at the time, as we also informed you.
