First Look at Russell Crowe as Jor-El in ‘Man of Steel’

The waiting has finally come to an end: though unauthorized, fans have a first look at Superman’s father in the upcoming “Man of Steel,” as the first photo of Russell Crowe in full costume has emerged online.

Zack Snyder’s take on the classic Superman story is now shooting on location, with a 2013 release in mind.

Given the years this reboot has been in the making, it’s no wonder there’s a lot of anticipation around it. Having seen this photo, fans believe chances are going up it will not disappoint.

Looking nothing like the costume from the first “Superman” films, this one resembles more a “grownup” version of Superman’s updated and improved suit.

It has the same blue and red washed out, somber hues and, in places, it even seems to have been made of the same material – with the obvious difference that Superman’s is much tighter and, because of it, revealing.

No word yet if more CGI will be applied to it.
