First Look at Jeremy Renner in 'Bourne 4'

Ever since word got out that the Jason Bourne franchise would go on without Matt Damon and without the character Jason Bourne, there's been a lot of talk about how it would play out. We now have the first details.

Jeremy Renner is taking over from Matt Damon but he's not playing Jason Bourne. In fact, the game has changed completely, up to the point of being able to say it's an entirely different movie franchise that is, more or less accidentally, called “Bourne.”

We have the first pic of Renner in character and, with it, a first name.

“My character is called Aaron Cross, but he ends up having a bunch of different names,” Renner tells Empire.

“For fans of the franchise, [The Bourne Legacy] has that same ticking clock, but it's a new program and new characters,” he adds.

The first official photo doesn't reveal much, but it would be a stretch to assume fans of the old Bourne are pleased with it.

“The Bourne Legacy” is out on August 3, 2012.
