Angelina Jolie knows that she doesn’t have to oversell her movies, which is what makes the first promotional shot for her upcoming “Unbroken” so special. You can see it in full above.

This is not an actual photo from the movie, because Jolie doesn’t star in it, she just directs it. It is, instead, a shot of Jolie and the inspiration for “Unbroken,” 96-year-old Louis Zamperini.

Zamperini was an Olympic runner and a WWII bombardier who became a war prisoner. His story was told in the 2010 best-seller “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand.

“Angelina is a human dynamo, and I know she will tell this story in the right way,” Zamperini says in a statement to People magazine.

“It will be hard to make a film worthy of this great man. I am deeply honored to have the chance and will do all I can to bring Louie’s inspiring story to life… Like all readers of Laura’s book and all people who love and admire Louie, I am a fan who has learned so much. He has made me a better person,” Angelina says.

“Unbroken” stars Jack O'Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, and Garrett Hedlund, and will be out in December 2014.
