First Look at Angelina Jolie as Maleficent

Sometimes, villains are more interesting to watch on the big screen than the good guys. However, Disney's latest film, “Maleficent,” aims only to show what makes a regular person into a villain.

Angelina Jolie will play the famous evil queen from “Sleeping Beauty” – and a first photo of her in character has emerged online. Click on the image above to see it in full.

“Magneficent” will soon start shooting in Buckinghamshire – the first photos of the set are here, over at the Daily Mail.

The film also stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville, and marks the directorial debut of production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”).

“This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic 'Sleeping Beauty.' The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora,” Disney says.

“Maleficent” will be out in 3D in March 2014.
