First Look at Al Pacino as Phil Spector with Official HBO Trailer

After months of speculation, the first official trailer for HBO’s biopic “Phil Spector” has been released. Check it out in the video below, embedded at the end of this blog post.

Al Pacino stars as the controversial music producer, who was accused of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. Six years later, he was found guilty and sentenced to jail.

Dame Helen Mirren plays Spector’s attorney, who is desperately trying to get him off the hook, partly counting on the fact that celebrities tend to benefit from certain double standards where the legal system is concerned.

“Phil Spector” will focus mostly on the murder trial, exploring the relationship between Spector and his attorney, on whom his entire life comes to depend.

The film is directed by David Mamet on his own script, and will premiere on HBO on March 24. Will you be tuning in?
