Vomit blood on your victim

You know that a while back I reported that Valve teamed up with Turtle Rock to develop a new co-op multiplayer game called Left 4 Dead. Back then, little information was known about the game, but today, the fist details of this zombie killing shooter emerged via an Q&A session over at GameSpot.

The game will have four initial campaigns and they will include both urban and rural areas, with lots of dense architecture and challenging landscapes. You will see an elaborate "finale" at the end of each campaign, and if you survive, you will have to wait for a rescue vehicle to arrive and take you to "safety".

Left 4 Dead is built using Turtle Rock Studio's next-generation Ai technology. This allows creating a scalable game experience whether you play alone with AI-controlled survivors or online with or against human players. Once the game is finished, it will be released via Steam, and the producers want to follow the same path as Counter-Strike, by creating and releasing new content and constant updates. Also, the items inventory of Left 4 Dead will continue to grow over time.

The game will be released both on Xbox 360 and on PCs, and the developers reveal that they are still thinking to allow the two versions to be played together. In the game, there are two classes of characters, the infected and the survivors. The experience of playing an infected is different than that of being a survivor. The infected characters have unique features based on their "virus-induced mutations". You can vomit blood on your victim and this will attract hordes of infected to that particular victim.
