BioWare is expected to present a new project at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards but the first official screenshot of this new "franchise" has now been revealed.

The EA BioWare label was created earlier this year to oversee all of Electronic Arts studios that handled role playing games, so when we heard last week that a new project was coming, we immediately thought that it will be a classic RPG, either one set in space, like Mass Effect, or in fantasy realms, like Dragon Age.

Now, with this first screenshot published by Game Informer, it seems most of us were wrong. The image depicts, as you can see above, a crash in a desert between two pick up trucks and with a person dressed like an Arabian insurgent catapulted into the air.

No other details are known, so it's going to be an excruciating wait before we get to see the actual announcement at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards that take place on December 10.
