There were many rumors regarding HTC’s highly anticipated tablet device and today, the first ever pictures of the new design have surfaced on the internet. The new tablet is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s AP8064 quad core mobile processor that we’ve presented here.

The new processor uses four computing cores developed on ARM’s Cortex A15 architecture and the famous Adreno 320 GPU that has AMD / ATi heritage.

HTC’s new device will surely be a hit and we’re eagerly waiting to get our hands on the new wonder once it’s launched or even ahead of the scheduled launch.

The strange thing is the peculiar bezel configuration that makes the device considerably larger than the display area.

This might be to allow the manufacturer to include a bigger battery that, thanks to APQ8064’s power efficiency, might provide the longest battery life on a non-docked tablet in the industry.

We have no doubt HTC has the talent and resources to pull off such a feat and we can agree that the larger bezel also helps the user have a better grip on the device.

The device pictured reportedly looks more like a 10” tablet than a 7” gadget and we’re glad the Taiwanese famous smartphone manufacturer has chosen to attack Apple and Samsung right where we need some serious price reductions.

We can’t wait to see if this becomes a reality and experience HTC’s exquisite software interface on a 10” tablet.

Just like all such early information, these photos could prove fake in the near future, but if they’re real we’re gladly welcoming HTC’s design choice if it brings real functional advantages.
