Called Rova Paste, it can use ingredients you can buy in any store

Food 3D printers have been revealed before, but those that didn't die before passing the prototype stage aren't exactly 3D printers either. More like 3D printer kits you have to put together yourself. The Rova Paste is not like that.

Created by Ord Solutions, the Rova Paste is a 3D printer that ships fully assembled and also has the honor of being priced at under $1,000 / €750. Well, technically the price was rated below a thousand Canadian dollars, but it should sell for less than the same number of US dollars in the USA.

The printer can also make things out of inedible materials (Silicone, Plaster, Drywall compound), without using any heat whatsoever, but food is still its primary purpose, like face-shaped cookies for example. You do get the option for a heating/cooling build platform though, as well as filament extruder (PLA, ABS, Nylon, PC, POM, PET, Carbon, Wood), and heated paste extruders too.

The best part is that you don't need specially prepared ingredient packs to use it. Stuff you buy at the store works, like Nutella, Peanut Butter, icing, etc.

The Rova Paste 3D printer is on Kickstarter, seeking to raise $25,000 CAD / $22,700 / €17,600 until October 7. You can get it for $899 / $817 / €633.
