Those of you who liked Tom Cruise in a fat and hairy suit, doing the raunchiest dance moves in his career and spewing more obscenities per minute than Charlie Sheen himself, rest easy: the Les Grossman movie is still happening.

Les Grossman first made history when he made a brief cameo in Ben Stiller’s 2008 hit “Tropic Thunder.” It came precisely at a moment in Tom Cruise’s career when he most needed attention for his humor and ability to laugh at himself.

Grossman made a successful return into the spotlight, with a few, very inspired promo videos for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards and a live performance (with lots of dancing) with none other than Jennifer Lopez.

Shortly after, the announcement came that a full-feature movie was in the making but, since then, nothing else was heard about the potentially hilarious project.

MTV has now learned that, contrary to some speculation online saying differently, the film is still happening. Not only that, but it also has a script.

“When MTV News caught up with Saturday Night Live funnyman Bill Hader at the first-ever Comedy Awards, he told us that the Les movie is written and is getting closer to arriving in theaters,” MTV writes.

No need to lose hope, then.

“Hader, who appeared in a few Les Grossman skits in anticipation for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, confirmed that his friend, actor/writer Michael Bacall (who previously penned ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ and is currently working on the upcoming remake of ‘Fright Night’) ‘wrote it and he’s told me some really funny scenes from it’,” the same e-zine reports.

Shortly after uttering the above words, Hader probably realized he’d said too much about the project, and tried to backtrack, stressing that he did not know the specifics of the plot.

“I just know the broad strokes. Michael just telling me, ‘I just wrote this scene where blah, blah, blah and I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s funny, man!’” he said.

Baher doesn’t know either when the film will arrive in theaters, but he’s certain of one thing, regardless of when it’s out: “It’s gonna be great,” he promises.
