Chromebooks seem to be the next big territory brand vendors all over the world seem determined to conquer. Recently we brought you news that ASUS has officially announced it was working on two Chrome-enhanced laptops to be unveiled in 2014.

ASUS is reportedly putting its efforts into the design of 11-inch and 13.3-inch models. Prices for these offerings are expected to range between $199 / €145 and $329 / €242, so a base model should come with a pretty decent price tag.

During the same time frame, Toshiba has also been said to be gearing up to unleash a Chromebook into the world, but the company is currently busy outsourcing production to Inventec, so it might take a while to get things started.

Nevertheless, if there’s an intention, something will clearly arise. It is also worth mentioning that Toshiba and ASUS Chromebooks will come bearing the latest Haswell chip architecture.

Acer already had its Chromebook C720 on the market priced with a very wallet-friendly $199 / €144. The company has also pushed out a touch-screen Chromebook dubbed C720P which ships for $299 / €217.

HP has a couple of Chrome laptop models, the Chromebook 11 (which has recently suffered some issues due to a charger overheating) available for $279 / €203 and the Chromebook 14 priced at $299 / €217. Last but not least, we should mention Samsung’s Chromebook that was just introduced to India (available for $249 / €181).

But don’t you think one major PC manufacturer is missing from this list? The answer is Dell. The company hasn't said anything about wanting to jump into the Chromebook bandwagon so far, but that’s about to change.

The first Dell Chrome device, dubbed the Chromebook 11 (not to be confused with the HP Chromebook 11) is expected to drop on December 11 and CNET says, it is going to be aimed at schools in the first phase.

But if you’re long past your school days, don’t worry! Dell is going to release the Chromebook for the casual consumer market in 2014. Apart from that, specs are pretty much unknown, but more we’ll be revealed as we advance in the day.
