It looks like being the President's daughter didn't land Malia Obama any special treatment when she signed up for her first job in the entertainment industry: a production assistant on the set of Halle Berry's latest movie “Extant.”

TMZ reports that Maila wasn't cut any slack, and she was treated just like one of the other assistants. This means that she spent most of her days on set fetching coffee for the other crew members. Though she did haul coffee cups back and forth, trying to quench the thirst of the film crew as well as help them stay on their feet, the President's daughter was said to have had other roles too.

Her other big task behind the scenes is said to have been preventing people from walking into the scenes during shooting. The report claims that there were Secret Service agents present for her protection but that they kept their distance and did not intervene.

It's a commonly known fact that the President's family is always escorted by members of the Secret Service for their protection. Although it sounds cool, it can get pretty annoying at times, but it looks like Malia has gotten the hang of things so far.

In fact, Malia Obama managed to keep such a low profile that there were other people on set who didn't recognized her and treated her like a regular girl. One crew member even chatted with her about sports, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he was talking to the President's daughter and he tried to be nice to her.

Malia's interest in films and filmmaking is common knowledge by now. Back in 2012, her mother Michelle Obama told People Magazine that she had an avid interest in this field: “Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest.”

It's interesting that Malia managed to stay low key and actually played a role in the film production. Usually, you'd expect a bunch of paparazzi to show up and gum up the works by trying to take her picture, but it looks as though the Secret Service agents were doing their job.

It's interesting to see that Halle Berry wasn't the most famous person on set, for a change. After all, she wasn't the one with an armed escort standing at the ready to protect her. Asked about her experience, Malia gushed, “My first time. This is a big deal.”
