November is still a long way to go, and so is the release of this fall’s most anticipated major release, the sequel to “Twilight,” the Chris Weitz-directed “New Moon.” As luck would have it, as fans are anxiously waiting for it to hit theaters, there is at least one person in the world who has seen the first cut of the film, and that is Chris’ brother, Paul Weitz, as he says so himself for MTV’s Hollywood Crush.

As the source also points out, it could be that Paul is biased in his estimation of the first “New Moon” cut, but at least it’s the most certain way for fans to know that their hopes will not be disappointed upon release. “New Moon” is awesome, Paul Weitz says for MTV and “Twilight” fans will undoubtedly be blown by it once it hits theaters – and he says that after seeing only a first cut, since Chris is still busily hammering away at the finishing touches of the flick.

“Chris is hard at work these days putting the finishing touches on one of fall’s most anticipated movies. And since the brothers are so close, Paul’s younger sibling has been bouncing ideas off him all along the way, and has already shown him the film! ‘He showed me an early cut,’ Paul revealed to us recently when we caught up with him. ‘And I thought it was awesome.’” MTV writes, citing Paul Weitz.

As expected, Paul did not want to give away too much of the movie – after all, Summit and Chris are already working somewhat at a disadvantage, since most fans have already read Stephenie Meyer’s books. So it’s only understandable why they’d want to have at least a faint trace of the element of surprise. But that doesn’t change the fact that the film is “awesome,” though, Paul guarantees. “Why was it awesome? Well, I just really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the first movie too. [Chris’ ‘New Moon’ movie] was really just an interesting story.” Paul says grinning.

Just recently, MTV also caught up with director Chris Weitz, as we also reported, and got him to talk a bit about Pattinson’s absence from the movie and how he managed to work around that without making fans feel disappointed. From what he said, he too believes “New Moon” will be bigger, better and make a more impressive splash than “Twilight,” and it’s not solely because of Taylor Lautner’s newly ripped abs and Robert Pattinson’s brooding beautiful face inserted throughout the movie.
