Optus Fusion is Australia's first combined phone and broadband cap. With this service, customers will be able to make unlimited calls only for a fixed monthly price.

By signing in for Optus
Fusion Cap, the subscriber will receive unlimited local and national calls as well as unlimited calls to Optus mobiles. The service also includes fast broadband and included line rental with no extra charges. Such features have high chances of appealing especially to small business customers who will benefit from unlimited services for a fixed price.

The Optus Fusion Caps will come in three different plans, as to best suit the customer's needs. For USD 70 on a monthly basis, they will offer full telephony package and 2GB of broadband data. The difference in the USD90 plan stands in the fact that there will be 7GB of broadband data per month and 20 GB for the USD 100 plan.

"We asked our customers what they wanted and they told us- one price for broadband and telephony. They also wanted the freedom to make unlimited calls locally and nationally - we are providing even greater value by including unlimited calls to Optus mobiles.", said Warren Hardy, Managing Director, Optus Consumer. Moreover, "The fixed line market can now enjoy the type of competition that the mobile market has enjoyed for some years. Caps allow people to use their services more, for a fee that is well below what most people would be paying today", Warren Hardy further commented.

The plans will be offered to users through sales channels which also include Optus World and Optus "yes" Shops. The company also plans on starting an advertising campaign these days in order to bring its new services to the attention of as many people as possible. They expect to bring the Optus Fusion Caps service in almost 4 million Australian homes by the end of financial year 2008.
