First Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC Arrives on January 24 for Xbox 360

Activision has just confirmed that its blockbuster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 shooter will be getting its first piece of downloadable content on January 24, 2012, in the form of a map pack that will be deployed onto the Xbox 360 platform and will be available for download by Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers.

Modern Warfare 3 broke sales records across all entertainment genres and amazed millions of gamers from all around the world with its top notch multiplayer.

Now, Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers have been treated with a special video in which Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling reveals the first details on the upcoming DLC for Modern Warfare 3, confirming that three developers, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software are working on new content for the game.

"The way we're doing downloadable content this year is unlike we've never done before," he said. "Not only in how you can get it - in content drops or choose for the collection - but also the type of content you're getting. We're doing more than just maps. We're going to do Spec Ops missions and a variety of things that players have never seen before.”

"That's the great thing about having three developers that are contributing to the season of content. You have Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven all pitching in. The full season of content for Modern Warfare 3 kicks off for Elite subscribers on January 24 on Xbox Live."

Activision has yet to detail just how this first piece of DLC will be delivered to regular Modern Warfare 3 gamers who don’t have premium Elite subscriptions.

It’s possible that Xbox 360 users with just the free Elite accounts might get it soon after those who are paying money, while PC or PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait even more this opportunity.
