Gearbox Software will release the first story-based add-on for its recently launched Borderlands 2 shooter later today, October 16, in the form of Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, and, in order to hype it up, the studio has just posted some fresh screenshots with the DLC.
Borderlands 2 came out at the end of September and was quickly followed by the release of its first actual DLC, in the form of the Mechromancer
character class. This was free for those who pre-ordered the game and got into the Premiere Club, while those who didn’t, needed to pay $9.99/€9.99/800 MS Points to get it.
Now, the first campaign add-on for Borderlands 2 – Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty – is getting ready to be released later today, October 16.
Until the DLC is officially released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, developer Gearbox has posted a few new screenshots, showing off the new locations brought by the add-on as well as the new enemies.
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will cost $9.99/€9.99/800 MS Points, but those who’ve already got the Borderlands 2 Season Pass
will receive it for free. In case you forgot, the season pass costs $29.99/€29.99/2400 MS Points and covers not just this first DLC but also three other campaign add-ons that will be released until June 2013.
