Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has just been released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and Ubisoft has already confirmed that it will kick off the first multiplayer event for the impressive game later today, November 1, tasking fans with completing new objectives.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag introduces not just the story of a new protagonist, Edward Kenway, but also brings quite a lot of enhancements to the multiplayer experience that first made its debut in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

In order to keep players focused on the online mode, Ubisoft will continue the string of different challenges it issued last year for Assassin's Creed 3 players.

The first such multiplayer challenge in Black Flag is called "Under Control" and kicks off later today, November 1.

"For Under Control, you will need to play Domination games and pile up territory captures with our most aristocratic characters: the Huntsman, the Puppeteer, the Dandy and the Duelist," the studio confirmed on the PS blog.

"For the uninitiated, Domination games will have you and your team working together to capture territories and defend them from the opposing team to score. The team who fills the scoring gauge or obtains the highest score at the end of the countdown wins."

New community and personal objectives will be given to players and special rewards are up for grabs, according to the studio, including white Assassin costumes for the Huntsman, Puppeteer, Dandy, and Duelist.

"Starting Friday, you can check out the events section in-game to find out what the current community objectives are. Outside of the community objectives, you’ll find a number of things you can win even before reaching the community objective. For instance, you get a unique title just for participating and an exclusive in-game profile picture if you reach the individual objective (15 territories captured)."

Expect to see lots more multiplayer events for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag in the future, especially once it is released for other platforms like PC, Wii U, PS4, or Xbox One.
