14 DAY TRIAL // For quite some time now, there’s been a lot of talk about the new Diet Pepsi campaign, which managed to bring together two of the hottest stars of the moment: Sofia Vergara and David Beckham. The first ad is below, at the end of this article.
Since paparazzi always find their way on most sets, whether they’re for a movie, a video clip or an ad, photos of Sofia and David on the beach have been available for a while.
Not much else was known about the ad the two were shooting, except for the fact that Sofia would be wearing a swimsuit that made the best of her killer curves for which she’s so appreciated – and that David would also be there.
The ad is now out and, indeed, it has Sofia in a swimsuit looking her usual stunning self, and a bit of David too, though perhaps not enough for his female fans.
The ad opens with the actress on the beach, working on her tan in the scorching heat but still looking drop-dead gorgeous in the one-piece and an oversized color-matched hat.
At one point, she notices a girl is drinking a Diet Pepsi, but – alas! – there’s this huge queue at the soda stand. She goes on Twitter and tells her followers and the world that she just saw David Beckham at the pier.
Screaming ensues, as everybody heads for the pier to see the football star, leaving the beach deserted – and offering Sofia the chance to enjoy a cold Diet Pepsi.
Towards the end of the video, Beckham too makes an appearance: what do you know, he was at the beach. “What’s going on down there?,” he asks with his slick smile, as Sofia is barely able to get a grip on herself.
The entire ad plays on “Whatever Lola Wants,” quite a smart choice considering the story presented.
Word online has it that this is just the first in a series of commercials for Diet Pepsi with both Sofia and David, but, as of now, that’s just speculation.
