A newsletter from Agile Web Solutions, the creator of 1Password, reveals the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting multiple platforms and web browsers, as well as to providing more enhancements for existing users. 1Password for iPad seems to be taking off quite well, with the company showing its first iPad mockups of the software running on Apple’s tablet device, while an alpha preview of 1Password for Chrome is now available. Read on for the full scoop.

David Teare, Co-author of 1Password, claims that Apple's iPad announcement, although expected, still blew his socks off. The developer sees the perfect traveling companion in the iPad, while calling the interface “revolutionary.” Teare adds, “I dream of replacing all my neighbour's PCs with iPads to reduce the amount of time I spend on tech support [...] Now that we have imagined life with the iPad and played with the new developer tools, I'm happy to say 1Password is coming to iPad in a big way!,” directing readers to the first 1Password for iPad mockups.

“These mockups are for brainstorming so expect them to change in the coming weeks,” Teare reveals. “With nearly 100 comments already I see others are excited about iPad as well!”

Next up, Google Chrome support. Teare acknowledges that, “Google's web browser is in beta testing and has been making a lot of waves.” Speaking on behalf of everyone at Agile Web Solutions, the developer states, “We're excited to announce that an alpha preview of 1Password Chrome support is now available!”

There’s also a dedicated forum for those “itching to use Chrome” with the company’s password manager and form filler for Mac OS X. Teare admits that not all features are available at the moment, since it’s only a pre-beta (alpha) version. “The first step was the hardest and we expect to add more features soon,” he assures fans of the company’s software.

Finally, Teare delves into iPassword touch, which includes both the free and the paid (1Password Pro) applications for iPhone and iPod touch. Both have received some major updates recently, Teare says, the most significant of which is the addition of Accounts and Software tabs to match the desktop version of the program.
