We reported yesterday about Sony Xperia S getting a new firmware version update and it looks like the Xperia U will get the same treatment.
However, the Xperia U is expected to receive a different
firmware version update, which is likely to be an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.
The folks over at
XperaBlog report firmware version 6.1.1.C.1.10 has just been certified on PTCRB site, which indicates the update might go live within the next couple of days.
No word yet on what changes it will bring, but we’re certain this is not the hotly-anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, which is expected to arrive on Xperia U devices in the following weeks.
We will keep an eye out for this one so stay tuned for more info on the upcoming firmware version 6.1.1.C.1.10 for Xperia U.
