Sony confirmed the Xperia go and Xperia P will be among the smartphones that will receive an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade at some point this year.

Until then, the Japanese company continues to deliver maintenance updates that are adding minor tweaks, new features or bug fixes.

The folks over at XperiaBlog report a new firmware version for Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia P has been recently certified at PTCRB.

Firmware version number 6.1.1.B.1.89 is an Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update, which will soon be pushed to all Xperia smartphones powered by NovaThor U8500 chipset.

This may be the last software update for at least two of these Xperia handsets, the Xperia P and Xperia go, before they receive the Jelly Bean upgrade. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
