For Hong Kong users at first

Owners of a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone will soon be able to enjoy yet another firmware update for their devices, namely the V21.0.0.25 release. As many of you might already know, the Finnish mobile phone maker has released a major firmware update for its only S60 Fifth Edition-based touchscreen handset only a few weeks ago, and now it comes with a new software version.

All for the better, it seems, as there were some rather disturbing issues with the device ever since it was launched, yet the company managed to fix some of them already with different software releases, with more to come. While the last firmware update brought a lot of stability features to the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the new version, which comes only to users in certain areas around the world, should bring even more fixes.

For the time being, the V21.0.0.25 firmware release is available for users in Asia, it seems, and comes with better camera functionality, as well as with a series of performance improvements, as initial reports state. While already slated to come for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic sold in Hong Kong, the firmware should soon be ready for users in other parts of the world as well. A quick look at the NSU (Nokia Software Updater) could show if a device has the software available for it or not.

For what it's worth, Nokia seems determined to upgrade the 5800 XpressMusic as much as possible, while also planning to turn it into a competitive handset for other high-end phones available on the market. Not only that the company worked on the performance of the device with the firmware updates it released into the wild, but it is also reported to plan on upgrading it with a capacitive touchscreen, leveraging this way the navigation speed on it. Though the phone was not perfect right from the start, things have been greatly improved, and it is comforting to see the company's focus on the matter.
