The PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony is not even out yet and the leaders of the company are talking about all the way it will make life easier for players, offering an experience that can be better than even that offered on the PlayStation 3 home console.

Speaking to Game Informer as part of a larger interview Shuhei Yoshida, who is the president of the Worldwide Studios division at Sony Computer Entertainment, has said, “it’s very annoying when you only have one hour in your busy life to play a game, and when you have to spend 30 minutes out of that one hour to update the hardware.”

He added, “I cannot talk about specific plans, but we are very aware of the issues, and we’d like to address those issues on PS Vita going forward.”

Yoshida believes that Sony has made a number of mistakes about the networking options included in the PS3 when it launched, mainly because the technology was not completely mature and pledged to offer a very different experience on the PlayStation Vita.

It will be interesting to see whether Sony also takes the step to add more detailed and clearer change logs for the Vita instead of taking a cue from the PS3, where firmware updates often come with just one small mention about improved security or about better performance in some unmentioned video games.

The PlayStation Vita will be launched on December 17 on the all important Japanese home market and gamers in North American and in Europe will get it early in 2012, although exact dates have not been mentioned.

The new Sony handheld will aim to outperform the Nintendo 3DS, which arrived earlier during the year and saw a sharp drop in sales after a number of good weeks after launch date.
