MINIX has just released firmware version 006 for their NEO G4 device. The new update has some similar changes to its X5 sibling, like the more convenient default launcher option under “Android Settings,” “Display” menu, enlarged mouse pointer and the, now removable, Tuzi.TV HD 2.0 app.

Other similar changes are the added reboot to fastboot mode, newly designed soft power button with three functions and the inclusion of the latest USB driver in the package.

The NEO G4 is an ARM Cortex A9 Dual Core Processor powered pocket PC able to run any Android application. Backed up by a quad-core Mali 400 GPU, it will play 1080p videos without missing a frame.

This device can double as a digital signage media player, a nice aid for surveillance and monitoring or even as a simple Wi-Fi hotspot.
