Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 smartphone is receiving a firmware update in more markets around the world, including Canada, where the new version has started to roll out to devices today, new reports suggest.

The smartphone, made available for purchase only recently, is currently receiving the update as build JDQ39, featuring PDA version I337MVLUAMDJ.

The new firmware is available for download for the Galaxy S 4 SGH-I337M models, SamMobile notes, adding that it still rocks the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, with Samsung’s own Nature UX 2.0 loaded on top.

Earlier this week, Galaxy S 4 has received a new software update at AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States, and is expected to get a taste of it at carriers in other markets around the world as well.

The unbranded GT-I9500 and GT-I9505 flavors of the smartphone are already seeing the update as available for download, it seems.
